After a year that started with a tour of Germany and the UK including the beautiful Sendesaal concert hall in Bremen and the oldest transport museum in Europe (DB museum, Nuremberg), the duo have some lovely gigs to round it all off. On Thursday 12 December they collaborate with traditional Indian musicians Janan Sathiendran and Sriram Shriananda @ Karamel, N22, Friday 13 Dec they’ll be performing live on BBC 3’s ‘In Tune’ program also interviewed by Katie Derham, Then Saturday 14th December they’ll appear with the Dankworth big band @the Stables, Wavendon and finally to finish it all off a gig @ Jazz Cafe Posk in Hammersmith - not only a great venue downstairs but a fab Polish cafe upstairs so if you don’t like the music come for the food :-)
It’s been a great year for Tori touring with the duo, Huw Warren’s ‘Choro, choro, choro’ Brazilian project, Nikki Iles’ Large Orchestra and Zoe Rahman’s Octet to name a few, and next year a further tour of Germany is in the pipeline for the duo, further gigs with her trio on the horizon including a birthday celebration gig @ The Vortex in Feb, and a tour with Huw Warren featuring the great Italian vocalist Maria Pia de Vito.
