New collaborations and second album coming soon!
After a busy summer with dates including the Vortex (you tube clip featured above) and the Sudtirol Jazz festival, Tori and the trio are soon to go back into the studio to record their second album. Check back here for more news on that soon. Tori has also been busy performing in a variety of projects including performances at the Manchester Jazz Festival featuring dates with Neil Yates's 'Surroundings Revisited' featuring Iain Ballamy (playing music from the 'Surroundings project' which had originally inspired the music for Tori's album 'In the Chophouse') and with a new duo collaboration with pianist Alcyona Mick, featuring music from 'In the Chophouse' at St Ann's Church in Manchester (opposite Mr Thomas' Chophouse coincidentally) as well as a reunion project playing violin in the Cuban band 'La Timbala'.
As well as the new trio album, there are some exciting new projects on the horizon for Tori including an album launch tour with fellow Whirlwind artist Ivo Neame Quintet in October featuring a live recording for Jamie Cullum's BBC Radio 2 show, and a new project with another fellow Whirlwind artist Andre Canniere featuring Brigitte Beraha, John Turville, Dave Manington and Tim Giles which will premiere at the Vortex on 4 October. She will also feature with Nikki Isles and the Leeds College of Music Legacy Big Band in October and with Pete Hurt's big band in December launching their recently recorded album, plus there are further dates for the trio and the duo with Alcyona including dates in the Lancaster and London Jazz Festivals - there's more on all this on the dates page.
