We had a great time at the Manchester Jazz Festival and spent a lovely evening at the Chop House too!  Check out Adrian Pallant's review of the festival (which includes a mention of our gig) here.  Thanks to Adrian too for the great pic!  We've also had a lovely review of the album on 'Kind of Jazz'.  Check this out on the tweets section of my homepage. After Manchester we had a mini tour of the South West which was brilliant fun.  Swimming in the sea, eating pasties or fish and chips and then a lovely trio gig to round each day off - life doesn't get much better than that!

Apart from that, I've just recorded a new album with Ivo Neame's Quintet which is also going to be released on the 'Whirlwind' label which is great news.  Looking forward to some gigs abroad with Ivo in September.

The trio have some more exciting projects and dates in the pipeline, so stay tuned for more on that very soon.

The trio have had some great reviews and radio play - a recent 4 star review in the Guardian which you can read here, a 5 star review in Jazz Journal, a 4 star Marlbank review plus reviews in the Scotsman, the Jazz Breakfast, and zona de jazz as well as interviews for London Jazz and Creativa Canaria (the latter was in Spanish so the aid of the dreaded google translate may be needed for that one).

Despite finishing the tour, the trio have plenty of gigs coming up throughout the year.  This month we'll be in Tenerife at the Semana Internacional de Jazz Ciudad de La Laguna (see above for details) on May 16 (featuring other long time band mates Jasper Hoiby and James Maddren for this one) and at the Royal Festival Hall Central Bar on 30 May (with Tim and Dave).  Further details of these and other upcoming gigs are on the dates page.

Album release and launch imminent!

After returning from a great tour with the Ivo Neame Quintet including a live recording at Kings Place in London (due for release early next year) and a great gig at the 'Bimhuis' in Amsterdam, I'm now really excited about my imminent album release on Whirlwind recordings on the 21 April and the double bill Whirlwind recordings album launch at The Forge in Camden on 22 April which will shared with Rory Simmons' 'Monocled Man' trio.  Should be a great night!

The trio have already received some great reviews in the UK press and abroad too as well as having tracks played on jazz fm and BBC radio 3's jazz line up.  Stay tuned for further info on the press page soon.

Tour update

We've had a great tour - we thoroughly enjoyed the gigs and feel that the music's really developed and we've also been to some lovely places!  We're really looking forward to the Album launch on 22 April at the Forge, and to playing at the Jazz Festival in La Laguna, Tenerife in May, plus more touring in the summer.  In the meantime, I'll be busy touring with the Ivo Neame Quintet and had an album launch with Fringe Magnetic at the Vortex a few evenings ago which you can check out on the BBC website for a few more days.  More updates soon!!!

Tour has started and the albums have landed!
